TECH POLICY VETERAN KENNETH SCHRAMKO JOINS LEADING ELECTRONICS INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION IPC

Jun 04, 2014

IPC — Association Connecting Electronics Industries® announced that Kenneth Schramko has joined its Washington, D.C.-based government relations team as director of government relations.

The addition of Schramko to the IPC team is part of the association’s continuing efforts to expand its presence with policy makers and key audiences in Washington, D.C. Schramko will focus on a variety of policy and regulatory issues that affect the electronics industry. Reporting to John Hasselmann, vice president, government relations, Schramko will work with IPC’s Government Relations Steering Committee to identify issues and opportunities for the association and its members.

With a background in public policy, business development and the technology industries, Ken brings the talent and expertise needed to foster and maintain relationships with our elected officials, educating them on important policy issues in the electronics manufacturing industry,” said Hasselmann. “Ken has developed an outstanding portfolio of policy initiatives in diverse areas, including export controls, tax, trade and renewable energy. With technology standards development and management positions under his belt, Ken bridges the gap between solid high-tech industry experience and high-level policy knowledge. He is an impressive addition to IPC’s government relations team, and we’re excited to have him aboard.”

During his career, Schramko has provided strategic legislative, political and business advice and solutions to corporations, associations and universities. Prior to joining IPC, Schramko was principal and founder of Brick Strategies, a consulting company that specialized in advocacy and business development for the high-tech, renewable energy, and defense industries. He also served as director of federal affairs for McAllister & Quinn, and has held several positions in policy and standards development at SEMI.

“IPC is a critical voice of the electronics manufacturing industry, and I’m thrilled to be part of the team,” said Schramko. “My goal is to further enhance IPC’s outreach initiatives in Washington and raise awareness about the industry and its priority policy issues. I look forward to working with John and others on the IPC team in support of sound manufacturing policies that spur economic growth.”

Schramko has a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a Bachelor of Arts in communications from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, N.M. He earned his Master of Business Administration in international business from The Johns Hopkins University, Carey Business School, in Baltimore, Md.
