IPC To Present Economic Cyber Summit

Nov 08, 2001

IPC-Association Connecting Electronics Industries will offer the inaugural IPC Economic Cyber Summit on Wednesday, December 12, 2001, from 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. (PST), providing PCB manufacturers, EMS companies, OEMs and industry suppliers easy access to economic information over the World Wide Web.

Registered participants of "The State of the Economy" summit will be able to log on-line and view presentations focusing on the future of the U.S. economy in general, and the outlook for the electronics, PWB and EMS industries. "Cyber-attendees" can also listen to each presentation over the telephone and participate during a 20-minute question-and-answer session at the end of the summit.

Bob Shrouds, economist for E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Co., and featured speaker at past IPC Technology Market Research Council (TMRC) meetings, will begin with an analysis of the U.S. economy and the electronics industry. Next, IPC's most recent recipient of the Raymond E. Pritchard Hall of Fame Award, Walt Custer of Custer Consulting, will analyze the PCB industry. And finally, Keith Dunne, managing director of Robertson Stephens and veteran analyst, will address the state of the EMS industry.

"IPC wants to provide the electronics industry with timely information on the state of the economy, as well as an outlook for 2002," said Jeff Morton, IPC Market Research director. "The IPC Economic Cyber Summit allows participants to receive up-to-the-minute industry related economic information from the convenience of their offices. A few clicks of the mouse and a telephone call is all that's needed to gain a better understanding of our industry and where it's going."
