Through a newly created network, PCB maker Freudenberg Mektec Europa GmbH wants to expand and consolidate its position as a European market leader in the area of flexible printed circuit boards. In the first stage, the focus of the dealer network is on Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and France. A start in England is planned for the middle of this year, with other regionsfor example Italy, Scandinavia, and the Benelux countriesto follow by and by, according to the companys website.
As of March, Freudenberg Mektec activated its Continental dealer network in order to serve the European market for small-and medium-sized projects. The company intends to avoid common barriers of differing languages and business mentalities through the newly created network.
According to Oliver Hauschild, manager of the distribution network, Freudenberg Mektec Europe GmbH now offers optimal customer care without linguistic or cultural hindrances. The network is based on intensive preparation in several areas, he noted. The project takes into account both technical and economic viewpoints, following months of preparations that included market studies of the targeted countries and task-specific training of personnel selected for the network effort.
In Germany and Austria, Freudenberg Mektec has earned a name for itself as a distribution partner that is itself a manufacturer of rigid and flexible PCBs. In Switzerland, the firm has partnered with the Dietrich & Blum Corp., a contract dealer of electric components and sensors and knowledgeable in flexible printed circuit boards. In France and Great Britain, Freudenberg Mektec will use the locally established company Freudenberg Simrit as a distribution partner. Freudenberg Simrit, part of the Freudenberg group, is involved in the sale and logistics of products in the sealing technology and oscillation technology businesses.
To be in first place and to look after the customer optimally are Freudenberg Mektecs goals, according to Mr. Hauschild. Since its founding in 1981, Freudenberg Mektec Europe GmbH has been a leading developer and producer of flexible PCBs in Europe. Innovative technologies and solid know-how make the company a competent business partner in the current difficult industry conditions, he emphasized. The company is driven by its desire to realize the visions of its customers; in fact, its website is dotted with the companys motto: Lets realise your vision.
Freudenberg Mektec is a partnership of Japan-based NOK Corp. with its daughter company Nippon Mektron. Freudenberg Mektecs large international customers include automobile, industrial technology, and medical technology firms as well as data technology and telecommunication. The companys new European dealer network is expected to expand this wide repertoire.
