Washington-based electronics manufacturing services (EMS) provider ControlTek, Inc. has announced the company has hired Dennis Griffin as its new Test Engineer.
A 28-year veteran of the electronics testing industry, Mr. Griffin has spent much of his career helping large-scale manufacturers like Celestica, CND, and Murata align and integrate their testing and manufacturing processes. He hopes to bring the expertise gained in those high-volume environments to meet the needs of the customer base and unique product mix at ControlTek.
“Testing in higher volume environments focuses heavily on streamlining testing to improve throughput without having to sacrifice quality,” says Griffin. “Early integration of testing into the development process offers a lot of advantages, specifically by making testing easier and therefore more efficient and cost effective for our customers.”
“These are the same principles and skills we’ll put to use on behalf of ControlTek customers to develop a testing strategy that integrates Design for Test into the process early on for more efficient testing and better final results.
Test development has long been a priority at ControlTek. In addition to adhering to ControlTek’s current test processes, methods, and systems Dennis will also be tasked with recommending and implementing improvements to further refine and expand ControlTek’s Electronics Test Engineering capacity.
“We are always looking for new ways to ensure the quality of our customers’ finished products,” says ControlTek President Andy LaFrazia. “That means that discovering new, more effective ways to test effectively and efficiently is always a priority for us. Dennis’ knowledge and experience will help us continue to evolve our test capabilities so our customers will be successful.”
