Electronics manufacturing has become increasingly challenging as customers want ever more complex boards, densely populated with components delivering more functionality from less space. With an educational background as an IT Practitioner specialising in software systems, Ben’s remit is to provide development effort and support for Nordson YESTECH’s Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) software environment. This now includes not only the Nordson YESTECH AOI machine control software but also VuData, Cupio Yestech Europe’s newly-launched Statistical Process Analyser package. Additionally, Ben will be providing similar software support for ABI Electronics’ test, measurement and fault diagnosis equipment, and other products supplied and supported by Cupio Yestech Europe.
For customers, the most immediate benefits are faster responses to their requirements and support calls, and easier integration of Cupio supplied systems into their processes. Help with networking and systems setup, as well as a sample test programming service is also being offered. Additionally, Ben is engaged in development effort on customer applications as well as potential new products. A recent AOI project involved developing a standalone CAD conversion utility that quickly and easily converts Yestech users’ placement data for machine readability, eliminating the need for Excel spreadsheets.
“My everyday roles include answering support emails and calls, performing remote desktop support sessions and handling orders, as well as my project work” Ben commented, “It’s an exciting position that’s allowing me to further my existing abilities and learn a new skillset far more diverse than that offered by an average job.”
