Machine Vision Products demonstrates Dynamic Process Control (DPC) Material Manager and Screen Printer Integration at Productronica 2011.
Carlsbad, CA (November 14th, 2011): Machine Vision Products (MVP) today announced it would be demonstrating the award winning Dynamic Process Control (DPC) Manufacturing Management Suite at Productronica 2011 in Munich, November 15th to 18th. Hall A2 Booth 320.
DPC continues to enhance its already class leading software tools, extending the capability of Manufacturing Execution Software (MES) directly to the equipment and operations of SMT manufacturing lines. These tools provide the capability to significantly improve the performance, quality and traceability of today’s rapidly changing production environments.
On single or mixed vendor SMT production lines, DPC drives operations by providing detailed proactive instructions and optimized leading indicators directly to operators running the line while allowing all data to be stored and viewed using a single toolset. DPC's unique instructional approach to Lean Manufacturing prompts users to take action to minimize every possible opportunity for loss. Each action prioritized by its impact at that exact moment in time, ensuring operations are always performing to the maximum of their current capability.
Building on the success of its Process Control Manager (PCM), Setup Manager (SM) modules and Work In Progress Manager (WM), MVP has successfully integrated its Material Manager (MM) module to its DPC (Dynamic Process Control) Manufacturing Management Suite. DPC Material Manager has been designed to provide the tools for major reductions in floor stock and the ability to manage production schedules to maximise utilisation and productivity in today’s highly dynamic environments, Material Manager allows for seamless integration with both in-house and proprietary ERP, MRP and MES tools.
In line with the current need to dissect volumes into small (<100 unit) Kanban driven batches, using Material Manager minimises losses from unplanned changeovers due to missing or un-locatable material. Any combination of Kanban and ERP/MRP driven order batches can be dynamically loaded automatically in real time to any line on the shop floor, where operators then perform 'what if's' on each batch. Constantly tracking material reels, matrix trays and sticks loaded on SMT equipment or stored in line locations outside materials controlled storage, we can then check there is sufficient material available to complete the order. If insufficient material is available on the line but is available in material's storage, it is reserved, picked and transferred to the line in time for the orders scheduled start. Shortages preventing production are flagged and the order rescheduled.
Material Manager eliminates waste and lost time waiting for parts that have been depleted or changing over due to those parts not being available. Every item of material outside of material stores is tracked as it is being used allowing for the application of material FIFO, the use of part used material before new and the real time enforcement of rules such as 'use by dates' and quarantines.
MVP is also pleased to announce the addition of support for screen print verification to Setup Manager in the latest release of DPC. Setup Manager adds verification/tracking of stencils, tooling, solder paste and dispensing nozzles to its already comprehensive component verification. The generic module can be used on any printer and includes integration with DPC's traceability modules.
