Feb 12, 2013

Glenn L. Seely, 56, of Fremont died on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, in Omaha after fighting hard against Melanoma.

Glenn worked in the electronics industry for the majority of his career, most recently as an associate of Southwest Systems Technology, Inc. He was diagnosed with Melanoma in late 2010. Subsequently, the cancer spread to Glenn’s brain and he had surgery in December 2011.The doctors gave him a very tough prognosis but he maintained an optimistic and upbeat outlook. Utilizing his power of optimism, Glenn beat the odds by fighting valiantly for many more months. His ability to stay strong and positive throughout his fight characterizes Glenn and his powerful fortitude.

A memorial for Glenn was held in Nebraska on Saturday, February 9 and another will be held on Sunday, February 17 in Lago Vista, TX.

A memorial account has been set up for Glenn’s family and to help defray medical costs:

Glenn is survived by his wife Christine and eight-year-old daughter Jessa of Fremont, as well three daughters from a previous marriage (Tara, 19; Erin, 21; Toni, 24) and numerous other family members.

I knew Glenn for many years. He spoke with me at APEX in 2011 and told me of his illness. He was adamant that he would beat the disease and asked if we could work together. I was very appreciative of his offer and was glad to have Glenn join our team. Glenn was a friend and an honest colleague. I will miss him and our industry has lost one of the good guys. Please do what you can to help Glenn’s family,” said Dee Claybrook, President/CEO of Southwest Systems Technology, Inc.
