IPC News: Congressman Tim Walz Tours Creation Technologies in Minnesota

Mar 10, 2015

Today, Congressman Tim Walz (D-MN-1) met with executives and employees of IPC-member company Creation Technologies at the company’s custom-built manufacturing facility in St. Peter, Minn. Coordinated by IPC, this visit is part of a nationwide effort to educate policymakers about legislative and regulatory issues that affect the electronics manufacturing industry.

I’m grateful to Creation Technologies and IPC for hosting today’s meeting and tour,” said Rep. Walz. “Manufacturing in America is back, and we need to do all we can to support it. Hearing directly from folks like Creation Technologies and IPC is extremely helpful as Congress looks for ways to support innovation and growth in this vital industry.”

With facilities across the USA, Canada, Mexico, and China, Creation Technologies has decades of experience designing, manufacturing, and providing customized supply chain solutions to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) around the world. The St. Peter facility’s General Manager, John Makela, hosted the site visit and led discussions on issues including fostering innovation, research and development, tax credits, and regulatory compliance.

On behalf of Creation Technologies and IPC, I thank Congressman Walz for his continued support of the high-tech manufacturing industry,” said Makela. “We appreciate the time he took today to visit our facility. We look forward to working with him and with IPC to find new ways to drive economic growth and innovation in the Midwest.”

Rep. Walz’s visit was part of IPC’s “Meet the Policymakers’ program, through which IPC government relations staff arrange opportunities for IPC member-companies to host elected officials at company locations. IPC member companies interested in hosting a legislator should contact IPC Vice President of Government Relations John Hasselmann at JohnHasselmann@ipc.org.
