Rockwell Automation Reviews Fiscal Year 2001 Results and Expectations for the First Quarter of Fiscal Year 2002

Dec 06, 2001

At its annual Securities Analysts meeting being held today in New York, Rockwell Automation (NYSE:ROK), a leading global provider of industrial automation power, control and information solutions, will review its outlook for the first quarter of fiscal 2002.

The company is anticipating a 3 percent sales decline from its fourth quarter of fiscal 2001. It expects first quarter 2002 earnings per share to be in the range of $0.14 to $0.16, which includes the effect of ceasing amortization of goodwill and certain other intangible assets as required by SFAS No. 142. Results for the balance of the fiscal year continue to be difficult to project given the uncertain economic environment.

At the meeting today, the company will also review its results for fiscal 2001 and will provide an update on key business developments, including its heightened focus on services and solutions in its Global Manufacturing Solutions business. Global Manufacturing Solutions offers a comprehensive set of integrated solutions including customer support, training, asset management, software, process solutions and consulting. This business is expected to be a major driver of the company's future growth.

This meeting will be webcast on the Rockwell Automation website http://www.rockwellautomation.com beginning at 12:20 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on December 6.
