Europlacer China has broadened its support infrastructure by appointing a seasoned SMT industry professional to the role of Customer Support Manager, located at the company’s China HQ in Shanghai. Lin Dong, formerly of Artesyn Embedded Technologies, takes over the role from Europlacer’s Sean Zhang, who moves to a newly-created position as Senior Engineer & Product Specialist.
Lin Dong brings 20 years of SMT experience to the Europlacer team. He is an acknowledged expert in screen printing, pick & place processing, reflow, vapour phase and selective soldering technologies as well as AOI, PCB fabrication and a host of other critical SMT assembly functions. He joined Europlacer on 18th March 2019.
As Process Engineering Manager for Artesyn (formerly Emerson Network Power), Lin was also responsible for new technology and equipment introductions in Asia, Europe and the Americas. This gives him first-hand insight into the support procedures required to integrate new production solutions into a manufacturing environment quickly and effectively.

Almost 13 years after joining Europlacer, Sean Zhang hands over the customer support post and moves to a brand-new role. As a Senior Engineer & Product Specialist, Sean will work closely with Lin but, based on his extensive process knowledge, he also assumes additional high-level responsibilities. These include internal and external application support, the driving of focused solutions for complex and non-standard customer requirements, provision of training content and materials for the Asia customer support teams, liaison with R&D, and directing product & service developments to fulfil changing market demands.
