FlexSolder S3532 is one of the newly designed machines offered by JUKI. Although new, it uses the original stamp technology that has been used around the world at leading companies such as Bosch, Siemens, TRW, and Continental. The FlexSolder S3532 is a high-speed machine which can run around the clock with continuous high FPY.
Stamp soldering is a way to volumetrically control and apply the correct amount of solder onto the leads of a through-hole component � without pumps � in a controlled nitrogen atmosphere. The stamp process provides numerous advantages over typical multi-flow types of high-speed soldering; however, there are three distinct characteristics that FlexSolder S3532 provides:
1. The volumetric stamps do not use any pumps. Pumping solder through various size holes can cause instable waves, solder balls, bridging and an uncontrollable amount of dross.
2. The process also incorporates a stamp fluxing technology that is fast, perfectly clean with no overspray and easy to maintain. With this precise control over the fluxing process, it also can help eliminate solder balling and, more importantly, provides better flux activation and leaves no residue on the PCB. The flux is applied precisely onto the soldering area and because the flux stamps are slightly smaller than the solder stamp, the flux is completely burnt off the PCB leaving no residue.
3. FlexSolder S3532 is the only machine that guarantees perfect flatness of the PCB during the soldering process. Supporting the board via top and bottom contour plates keeps the PCB in place perfectly in X,Y and Z, and controls board warpage caused by either previous double-sided reflow or simply the characteristics of the PCB. On other systems, the board is supported with a common gripper, which is nearly impossible to control board flatness.
The FlexSolder S3532 requires very minimum programming. There is no CAD, Gerber or other types of data needed to program. Its user interface is intuitive and simple to use.
