In order to frame the history of the past 25 years, SMTA created a website at smta.org/25. The site features lists of past board members, officers, award winners, and important events. Trivia enthusiasts can follow the weekly release of technology trivia from the year 1984. The site also holds the listing of recognized events and luminaries that helped make the SMTA what it is today.
One way the SMTA will be paying recognition is by highlighting moments in SMTA history and giving credit to the luminaries (individuals, companies, and events) that helped make SMTA the leading resource for technical information in the electronics assembly industry. These events will be revealed in the “SMTAnews Live!” e-mail newsletter and on the 25th Anniversary website each week until October.
SMTA International in San Diego, CA will be the setting for the 25th Anniversary Dinner and Celebration on Monday, October 5. Mike Buseman, Plexus (and past SMTA VP Membership) will be introducing a number of luminaries and events that have contributed to 25 years of success for the SMTA. Presentations by Ken Gilleo, Ph.D., ET-Trends and Ron Lasky, Ph.D., Dartmouth College/Indium Corporation will provide a "walk down memory lane" as well as a look to the future. A photo slideshow will be shown at the dinner for a visual reflection of the organization through the years.
Sponsorships are available for this event which includes promotion on the web as well as at the event. View the sponsorships page for more details:
