Gemini manufactures a range of Tinytag data loggers for monitoring temperature, humidity, shock, vibration and other environmental parameters in a variety of applications. Gemini serves numerous industries, such as environment, food, logistics, healthcare and laboratories, agriculture, museums and archives, and more.
“We were invited by Blakell Europlacer to come to its process and technology day in Poole, being generally interested in production techniques and ideas to help us fine-tune our internal processes,” said Stephan Habermann, Quality Manager for Gemini Data Loggers.
The Tagarno Magnus essentially is a camera-based tool that displays a crystal clear image of the object on a high definition display. A capture card allows exactly what is being viewed to be saved to a PC. This image then can be appended with information to assist the user to see critical areas of inspection.
“We already had an inspection tool on our shopfloor, but it is constrained to one user at a time, and cannot be used to capture live images of a product to be saved and later viewed. Because of this, we were looking for a more flexible tool,” said Habermann. “We attended the Europlacer open day, liked what we saw, and had a quick follow up demonstration at our facility. Straight away, we could see the benefits and decided to invest in the product. Already, we have managed to use the tool to tighten up some of our processes.”
Using a combination of different lenses, the Tagarno Magnus provides a magnification from 1.6-105X, allowing very detailed inspection of devices such as 01005 and fine-pitch devices.
The Tagarno Magnus is available exclusively in the UK via Blakell Europlacer.
About Europlacer
Europlacer has been developing machines for electronics assembly since the 1970s and invented the intelligent feeder concept in the 1980s. After acquisition by Blakell Europlacer in 1991, the company moved away from split-axis to the inherently more capable X-Y architecture that underpins the company’s machines today. Europlacer’s policy has been to ensure wherever possible that technology purchased many years ago, especially feeders, remain compatible with the latest equipment. Europlacer designs and manufactures a comprehensive range of highly flexible SMT placement systems for the global electronics industry.
