Den-On Instruments Co. Ltd. is a globally recognized technology leader and innovator in the field of hot-air PCB rework and repair equipment. The Den-On RD-500III series of rework machines has been developed to comply with exacting standards required in lead-free rework applications. The machines feature three independent heating systems to achieve uniform, regulated heating of the component and the PCB. Additionally, three cooling sources provide controlled cooling for optimal lead-free joint formation.
The RD-500III series of rework stations features both fixed-wall nozzles and innovative, adjustable-wall nozzles, together with anti-warpage fixturing and PCB support for the rework and replacement of a wide variety of components, including BGA, CSP, QFP and PLCC. The systems are available in both large PCB and small PCB (max 400 x 420 mm) formats.
Stencil application of solder/flux paste is performed with the component in a preparation tool (supplied as standard), which also centers the component under the vision system; X,Y alignment is verified via the vision software, which features a zoom and split screen.
Control of the semiautomatic operation is achieved via an integrated, on-board trouble-free controller (a separate PC or hard drive is not required), and the RD-500III range is also configured with five thermocouple inputs to give maximum flexibility for optimal profile development.
“Etek believes in offering its customers high-quality process solutions at competitive prices. The Den-On RD-500III products are a perfect example of this philosophy and we are delighted to add another market leader to our portfolio,” said Steve Jackson, Etek Europe Ltd.’s Applications Manager.
